Recruiter Tip for Managers – Exit Interview & Recruiting Process

Recruiter Tip for Managers – Connecting the Exit Interview and Recruiting Process

  • Try to schedule the conversation as soon as they resign.
  • Ask why they are leaving and don’t take it personally or out on the employee
  • Management might be able to save the employee depending on the issue
  • Management might also be able to unearth things like wages being lower than others, a bad manager, a company culture issue (for example: when a manager/recruiter thinks the company or management style is one thing, but they are really another),
  • This may change the type of employee that is a good fit for the team, the information being shared about the role to new candidates, budgeting for the role may need to be revisited especially if they are leaving for a role that is similar in the title at a higher wage
  • The employee might even be able to help in the interview process or have friends that fit the role.

Communication with employees is always important, but especially so when in transition.
